ServiceNow backend pages dont load following Zurich 10.3 upgrade

Hi 

I have recently upgraded a test instance from Zurich 4 to Zurich 10.3, following the upgrade my custom application pages load no problems. But when i go in to the backend to administer the instance non of the pages load? 
I can navigate to pages if i type the address in the URL but only pages that dont include /now so /now/nav/ui/classic just sits there doing nothing, but if i type /syslogs_list.do it loads. we have tried disabling polaris, rebuilding the polaris plugin but still nothing loads? 

at a bit of a loss as to the problem.

Since it's an upgrade issue: did you log a Case with NowSupport? They are able to access your TEST instance to troubleshoot.

Hi Mark 

yes have raised a case with support, the problem is that we are self hosted so they cannot test our instance to trouble shoot and its taking an age to get meaningful assistance from support.

i have attached a couple of screen shots, basically when i try and go in to the ServiceNow backend to administer my instance it loads and the menus at the top load. if i select one of these it expands but any option in that list doesn't load. 

As i have said above if i change the URL to something that doesnt include /now/ the page does load.
