Upgrade Plan next steps for builder instance that will be cloned over

We have a temp instance, currently set as the builder instance for Upgrade Plan. However, we have the following plan which I would like to receive some feedback on. Specifically, point two.
1. Clone prod to temp instance on April 8th. This is to have a clone the most similar to the one that will be performed to prod as possible, as temp instance was upgraded to Washington when it was one patch behind prod's last Utah Patch. And later Upgraded from patch 0 hotfix 1 to patch 1.
2. Preview upgrade in temp instance. Or should it be a direct upgrade of temp instance when the intention is to use an Upgrade Plan to upgrade QA and Prod instances.
3. Set temp instance as builder.
4. Prepare and publish upgrade plan from temp instance.
Does anyone have knowledge on Upgrade Plans that could provide guidance on how to approach this?

Hi @ilsehernandez

Atul: Preview upgrade is always a good option, the reason begin it will tell you how long your upgrade cycle, also the conflicts you may get and it help you to rethink on decision to how to proceed further.

You will need to do more than preview the upgrade. You will need to upgrade the temp instance and process the skipped log, and all that, as these are the steps you need to do in order to upgrade. The Upgrade Plan is meant to capture many of those actions so that you don't have to repeat them on the QA and Prod instances.

I have found the YouTube video that @Dr Atul G- LNG links in his response very helpful and a good demo of the process.
