Hi Community folks,

I wanna propose and implement BOTH "Standard Change Catalog" for Operational Standard change and "CAB workbench" in our weekly CAB meetings for the company I work now.

Need some Tutorials or Step-by-step instructions on these 2 so that I can test them in ServiceNow Test environment and then roll them out into ServiceNow PROD.

Any assistance on this request is much appreciated.

Thanks

Praveen

HI @praveen0078 ,
I trust you are doing great.

  1. Standard Change Catalog: The Standard Change Catalog allows you to define predefined and repeatable changes that can be quickly requested and approved. To set it up, follow these steps:

Step 1: Navigate to the Service Catalog module in your ServiceNow instance. Step 2: Create a new catalog item for the Standard Change Catalog. Step 3: Define the required fields and variables specific to your organization's operational standard changes. Step 4: Configure the approval process for the standard changes, ensuring appropriate stakeholders are involved. Step 5: Test the catalog item in the ServiceNow test environment to ensure it functions as expected. Step 6: Once validated, promote the catalog item to the ServiceNow production environment.

  1. CAB Workbench: The CAB Workbench facilitates the management of Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings, where changes are reviewed and approved. To implement the CAB Workbench, follow these steps:

Step 1: Navigate to the Change Management module in your ServiceNow instance. Step 2: Configure the necessary roles and permissions for CAB members to access the CAB Workbench. Step 3: Create a new CAB meeting record for each scheduled CAB meeting, providing details such as the agenda, attendees, and scheduled date/time. Step 4: During the CAB meeting, use the CAB Workbench to review proposed changes, discuss their impact, and make decisions. Step 5: Update the change records based on the CAB decisions. Step 6: Test the CAB Workbench functionality in the ServiceNow test environment to ensure it meets your requirements. Step 7: Once verified, deploy the CAB Workbench to the ServiceNow production environment.

Hey Praveen,

That sounds great! What is CAB an acronym for in your weekly meeting? Honestly your questions and requests are confusing. Have you tried writing out what you need more than this post? This sounds in-depth.

Hi, I would start by searching\reading the vendor doc's

https://docs.servicenow.com/

Then I think there are a number of community articles and youtube videos covering functionality.

Many Thanks Amit

Don't I need to have an Admin user role within ServiceNow instance to be able to perform these steps? If not Admin user role, what other user role allows me to be able to configure both the above mentioned CM module changes?
