How does the CAD exam handle features deprecated or removed across releases?

I'm studying for the ServiceNow CAD exam (Zurich 2026) and running into conflicting practice questions around features that have changed across releases,

Things like GAC, Studio, Workspace UI in GAC (removed in
Quebec), and certain plugin deprecations

For example, some questions ask about GAC UX options that no longer exist, or reference tools marked for deprecation in Australia.

How strictly does the exam stick to the Zurich release? And if a feature is "planned for deprecation" but still functional in Zurich, is it fair game?

Would love to hear from anyone who's recently passed the CAD exam on how they navigated this.

ahoy @theakashwag,

could you possibly explain what's "GAC"? And also you said you study for exam and there are conflicting questions, it seems that you are studying from some mock/dumps and these are full of random stuff and are copied from only god knows where.

Instead I encourage you to use the official materials - SN University or MeasureUp:

[GF#9] ServiceNow exams preparations with MeasureUp (CSA, CAD, CIS DF, ITSM, CSM, RC, SPM)

Regarding your question about deprecations, the exam content is revised with each new release but the difference between Yokohama, Zurich and Australia will not be that big. In that exam you should prove some basics about development in ServiceNow and your thinking about deprecated features might be even "overkill" for that exam's scope.

Would you mind sharing where have you found that question? Learning from unofficial materials is without guarantee...

Hi @GlideFather ,
GAC is the Guided Application Creator, which is deprecated in Zurich and totally from Australia Version.

In mock/dumps like Udemy, YouTube, and MeasureUp asked about GAC. So I raised this question.

Hi @theakashwag

From what I’ve observed, CAD and other mainline exams closely follow the official ServiceNow e-book (when available) and the corresponding training materials for the relevant release.

so questions on features deprecated (from older versions) are seldom coming in the current exam.

So

Go Through the course content till your concept is clear.

3. Practice in your Personal Developer Instance (PDI)

@theakashwag

don't rely on practice tests, they might be having old questions

always rely on course material, ebook etc
