On Hold Reason is moving to In Progress after saving the record from the backend.

In an Incident Record, when saving from "In Progress" to "on Hold" state and "On Hold Reason" is "awaiting caller", and click "save", the incident record is moving back to In Progress and not keeping the "on Hold" and "On Hold reason".

Can you write click on state and choose watch. Then make it happen again. Sound like you have some sort of business rule that is switching it back to in progress. Also I notice that Assigned to is not filled in. Are you filling that in at the same time? There is an out of the box business rule that set the state to in progress when the assigned to is filled in.
