Hi @SonalTiwari  you can start you journey in ServiceNow as a Certified System Administrator. By taking the course by taking the below course of CSA.

https://learning.servicenow.com/lxp/en/pages/now-learning-get-certified?id=amap_detail&achievement_i...

Also, start exploring the basic reporting and virtual task boards creation in ServiceNow which will be helpful for reporting purpose.

Thanks,

hi @SonalTiwari  ,

Welcome to the ServiceNow community!

Since you already have a Service Desk background, you're off to a good start because you'll already be familiar with Incident, Request, Change, and overall ITSM processes.

I'd recommend focusing on these areas first:

  • Learn the ServiceNow platform fundamentals (tables, forms, lists, users, groups, roles, and ACLs).

  • Get comfortable with Flow Designer before moving into scripting.

  • Once you're confident with the basics, start learning Business Rules, Client Scripts, Script Includes, and GlideRecord.

  • Build a small personal application in a Personal Developer Instance (PDI). Hands-on practice is one of the best ways to learn.

Also, the free learning paths on ServiceNow's Now Learning portal are a great place to start, especially the System Administrator and Application Developer learning plans.

All the best with your ServiceNow journey!

Hello @SonalTiwari ,

Below are the key points which you should focused on :

1. ServiceNow Administration (CSA)—Start with the System Administrator learning path and prepare for the CSA certification. Learn users, groups, tables, forms, lists, security, notifications, update sets, and platform fundamentals.

2. Scripting â€“ Spend time learning JavaScript along with ServiceNow scripting concepts like Client Scripts, Business Rules, Script Includes, GlideRecord, GlideAjax, UI Actions, and Flow Designer. Strong scripting skills are expected in most ServiceNow roles.

3. ITSM Fundamentals â€“ Get hands-on with Incident, Problem, Change, Knowledge, Service Catalog, and Request Management. These are the most commonly used modules in real-world projects.

4. Build on a Personal Developer Instance (PDI) â€“ Create your own applications and implement real-world use cases instead of only following tutorials. Practical experience is what interviewers often look for.

5. Learn Integrations and Automation â€“ Explore REST APIs, Import Sets, Transform Maps, IntegrationHub, and Flow Designer, as these are widely used in projects.

6. Practice Interview Scenarios â€“ Understand common ServiceNow interview questions and be prepared to explain the logic behind your implementations.

Once you're comfortable with the above, you can specialize in modules like HRSD, CSM, GRC, ITOM, or AI-powered capabilities such as Now Assist, depending on your career interests and market demand.

The key is to balance learning with hands-on practice.
