Workspace Tab filters, how to change the ootb filters

I need to change the filter by default of this page, this is Hardware Asset Workspace> Asset estate > Refresh requests

I managed myself to find this UX App route of Asset estate, but there's nothing else.

I would really appreciate it if you could help me find where to change this filter.

I don't know about you, but I've been disappointed in the ability to change/update the default filter in the Hardware Asset Workspace before. One example of this is the 'my approvals' tab under the Contract section which shows all approvals for all record types, not just contracts/contract renewals.
Well last Friday I found that those filter conditions are built in an OOB script include called AssetWorkspaceUtil. Maybe I'm the last person to find this out but, I was able to update the filter conditions in there and that produced a different 'default filter' in the workspace. This, to me, is a much cleaner/easier solution than trying to configure the workspace in UI Builder.
I did resist the urge to create system properties for these filter conditions, though that could be a logical next step.
