Yokohama ITSM Asset capabilities vs ITAM/HAM/SAM

In looking at the Yokohama content for ITSM in docs, I find:

IT Service Management

...

- Asset Management

    _ ITSM Software Asset Management

+ Legacy Software Asset Management plugin

       _Software Asset Management Foundation plugin

_Exploring Software Asset Management Foundation plugin

From the structure in docs, I believe all plugins and topics are available as part of ITSM.  But wne I look in to the "Software asset Management Foundation plugin (com.snc.sams)". seems to imply this is part of SAM.

I would to understand in details which Asset related capabilities are included in ITSM without licenses ITAM/SAM or HAM.

Is there an easy way to  figure that out?

Appreciate your input.

Hi @Claudia G Durki,

The following shows the difference between ITSM Asset Mgmt. and HAM Professional/Advanced.

For SAM only, the functionality, which is part of the SAM Foundation plugin you mentioned above, is available.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for that. This helps me understand what the ITSM Asset Management includes when compared to HAM / SAM.  Now, is it correct to say the FULL  full list of ITSM Asset Management capabilities are the ones at bottom of the HAM comparison + The SAM Foundation plug in, and nothing else?

Appreciate your input,

Claudia

Yes, correct. There are a few free plugins that might give some extra functionality, but not installed on a new instance.

The HAM Fundamentals training includes the Asset Management portion and is worth looking into. For both HAM and SAM, there is a series called 'Ask a Ranger' published on YouTube that guides you to the end-to-end process and all functionalities.

Hope this helps!
