Is there a way that Translation can be disabled for the Virtual Agent, without affecting other parts of the platform?
I have a customer that has very minimal translation on their platform, however with no budget for translation within Virtual Agent, and will not/does not want to use dynamic translation.
Right now they have languages installed on the system aswell as the core i18n plugin and as far as I can tell this means trnaslation is enabled on the Virtual agent without any noticble options to configure it (i.e turn it off).
This is a problem because:
- None of the bespoke topics have translations
- Where OOTB templates have been used, any messages that were left OOTB get translated because SNow provides some translations
- Where OOTb templayes have been used, but text has been altered, there are no translations.
This means we have messages bouncing between languages all within the same topic, let alone across the system as whole.
How can we tell the platform not to perform translations within virtual agent?, without actually deleting the translated UI messages (which may be used elsewhere).

Hi @Drothery,
Could you please check if you have the Dynamic Translation for Virtual Agent plugin installed? If it is installed, you need to
- Navigate to All > Conversational Interfaces > Settings.
- Select Virtual Agent.
- On the Multi language support card, check if Language Detection and Dynamic language translation are enabled.
- If they are enabled, you could disable them and then check if messages are still being translated.
Let me know if this helps.

Thanks for your response, however the issue is not Dynamic Translation - this is disabled.
The issue is static translations that have been provided by the I18N plugin. These have bveen installed, because other parts of the system are translated, however there is no scope to Translate Virtual Agent.
What we need is a method to tell VA not to translate anything (even where there is a translation available). We can't simply turn off the translated languages/delete the translated messages as they may be used elsewhere.

Hi @Drothery,
Did you find a solution for this?
