This was in the press release from this year regarding Zero Copy Data Fabric in ServiceNow.
SANTA CLARA, Calif., and SAN FRANCISCO — October 23, 2024 — ServiceNow (NYSE: NOW), the AI platform for business transformation, and Databricks, the Data and AI company, today announced a Zero Copy partnership that supercharges machine learning and AI capabilities. Databricks’ Delta Sharing will enable ServiceNow to offer Zero Copy, high‑bandwidth, bi‑directional, and secure integration with the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform so customers can turn data and insights into instant, AI‑powered action.
When I took the course on zero copy, the course specifically mentions that the data connection is only a single direction. IE, you can only pull data into ServiceNow and not push data into the remote table. Is there a way to move data from ServiceNow to remote database using Zero Copy? Can you update the data in the remote table?
Did the scope of the Zero Copy project change somewhere along the way and we should be expecting bidirectional capabilities sometime in the future assuming they are not available today?
