Form fields
A field represents an individual item of data on a record.
Users can view and modify field data on a form. For more detailed information, see Field administration.
Field status indicators
Indicators are used on some fields to denote a special field type.
A field status indicator is a colored asterisk that may appear to the left of mandatory fields. Field status indicators change colors to represent different states of mandatory fields.

| Unpopulated | Required field is empty. The user must enter a value to save the form. Default color is red. |
| Populated — saved Populated — unsaved |
Required field contains a value that was saved or must be saved. Default color is gray. |
AI indicator
The AI indicator visually identifies form fields in configurable workspace and Core UI that have been updated with AI-generated content.
The AI indicator, 
, an icon featuring "AI" and a sparkle star, displays next to relevant fields. It serves as a notification that the field's content was generated or updated by a predictive AI agent. When you manually update
a field with the AI indicator, the icon is cleared, indicating that the field is no longer AI-generated.
