Differentiating Identically Labeled Columns in ServiceNow List View

Hi Experts,

I'm stuck on something basic in ServiceNow. Let's say we have a table in list view, and one of the fields is a reference to another record. I need to show the created date for both records. Adding both columns is easy, but then they have the same label, which gets confusing. How can I tell them apart in the list view, just there?

Is there a way to do this in ServiceNow that I might have missed?

Hello @Lukasz Bojara ,

As per my understanding, we cant differentiate label if they are identical .ServiceNow does not provide an OOB way to rename column headers only inside a single list view. The usual approach is to rely on dot-walked field names or adjust the Dictionary label if a  change is acceptable.

If this helps you then mark it as helpful and accept as solution.

Regards,

Aditya

That is the case; relabeling is not an option, as it would affect multiple views and tables. If ServiceNow displayed the dot walk, it would be helpful. This functionality is currently missing. I have seen views with two “Created” columns, which confused users.

@Lukasz Bojara

that's OOTB behavior, both fields will show same column labels.

You can't differentiate which Created is for which one.

Currently there is no workaround for this.
