Hello ServiceNow Community,
My Personal Developer Instance (PDI), dev295422, has been showing Offline for several days.
The portal displays the message that my PDI is temporarily unavailable due to infrastructure maintenance.
I have tried refreshing the instance multiple times, but it remains Offline. Opening the instance URL also gives me a 502 Bad Gateway error.
I have an important learning project called Hostel360 - Smart Hostel Asset Management System in this instance. I created custom tables, Flow Designer automations, and issue classification logic, and I was preparing to build the dashboard.
Could someone please advise me on how to recover access to this PDI and whether my existing project data can be preserved?
I have not released or reset the instance.
Thank you for your help.

Hi there @23a3sa42d2,
This extended "Under Maintenance" status and subsequent 502 Bad Gateway error unfortunately indicates that the specific physical server node hosting your instance (dev295422) has suffered a severe failure or is stuck in a prolonged data center migration.
When the developer portal displays the banner stating the instance is temporarily unavailable due to infrastructure maintenance, it means the automated recovery scripts are attempting to wake or restore the node. However, if this persists for several days, those scripts have likely failed.
Regarding your Hostel360 project data, here is the technical reality: ServiceNow does not provide manual backend support, database extraction, or data recovery services for free PDIs. You currently have two options:
Wait: You can give it another 24-48 hours. Occasionally, the infrastructure team runs sweeping manual reboots on stalled nodes that might bring it back online.
Release and Restart: If you click "Release Instance", you will permanently destroy the existing database and lose all uncommitted work, but you can immediately request a fresh instance to resume building.
Moving forward, never leave custom tables and Flow Designer logic solely on the local PDI database. Always link your scoped applications directly to a GitHub repository using the native Source Control integration in ServiceNow Studio!
