In the HRSD module, when performing integration( success factor to ServiceNow), is it recommended to use a MID server or only the API?
If the MID server is not used, the requests will be directed to the default ServiceNow data center IPs, correct? Could you clarify which approach is recommended? and at which scenario mid server is mandatory?

Hello @VasukiS
I have setup successfactors integration and we are using mid server.
Technically, successfactors API calls are open to all, it's not closed in a private network, so there would be no firewall issue even if you don't add a mid server. The calls are going to directly go to successfactors data center's IP Address as you said. However, The successfactors would need to "whitelist" the IP Address from your end which are making a call.
To answer your question, mid server is always mandatory when you are trying to access any Third Party site within a private network , which will definitely have firewalls and security policies at place.
Though, successfactors is an open network, we recommend using mid server, because we using the same - first thing how many IP Addressed can be whitelisted is the issue. Second thing, it's secure.

Hi @VasukiS
MID server is recommended as it is bridge between the SN instance and 3rd party. read more about
