Scoped App Inheritance/Reuse: Best Practice for Leveraging Features from One Scoped App in Another

How can I reuse features and functionality from one scoped application in a separate, new scoped application?

I am developing a new scoped application, ABC, and I want to incorporate all the features, scripts, and tables defined in an existing scoped application, XYZ. My goal is to avoid duplicating development effort and allow ABC to inherit and leverage everything from XYZ.

Is there an established method or best practice in ServiceNow for one scoped application to "extend" or inherit from another scoped application? For example, a similar concept to how a table can extend another table.
