Workspace Related List - Hide "New" Button When Parent Record Status is Closed

Hi,
I have a requirement in Workspace where the New button on a related list should be hidden when the parent record status is Closed.

I came across the Knowledge Base article List control configurations do not work in Agent Workspace - Known Error, which mentions that traditional List Control configurations such as"Omit New Button" are not supported in Agent Workspace and that Workspace buttons are driven by Declarative/UI Actions instead. My requirement is:

• Parent record status = Open → Show New button
• Parent record status = Closed → Hide New button

Is there any supported approach to achieve this in recent releases?

Specifically, I would like to know:

1. Is there a way to conditionally hide the New button in Workspace related lists based on the parent record state?
2. Has anything changed since the KB article was published in 2024?
3. Has anyone implemented this using Declarative Actions, UX Actions, UI Builder, Client Scripts, or another Workspace-supported approach?
4. I am using the Zurich release. Does this limitation still exist in Zurich?

Any guidance, examples, or best practices would be appreciated.
