When it comes to app re-certification in ServiceNow, there are two scenarios which are re-certification for a new app version or re-certification on a ServiceNow release.

Re-certification for a New App Version:

If you already have a certified application listed on Store and would like to publish a newer version with any code changes, you must re-submit the apps for app and listing re-certification. For details, please refer to the Guide to Recertify Your Application.

Re-certification on a ServiceNow Release:

With new ServiceNow releases, many of you may be wondering what the recertification process is to get your application updated on the store with that new release's compatibility. If you already have a certified application listed on https://store.servicenow.com and haven't made any changes to the current listing, this document is for you.

If you wish to develop a new application for a newer release, follow this document instead: Guide to getting your App Certified & Certification Requirements.

For those wishing to update your current listing, we've greatly streamlined this process. Here is the technical process that we will be requiring to update your listing:

  1. 1. First and Foremost, we need to get one of your Vendor instances upgraded to our latest release. You can request an instance upgrade in hi: HI Service Portal - ServiceNow You can also request (purchase) an additional vendor instance here: https://tpp.servicenow.com/$appstore.do#!/tpp/companyprofile/instancerequest
  2. 2. Test your application on the newest release. Run through your entire Test Plan (see attachment for template if you don't have it). Take your time and ensure that everything is in working order. While the platform persists support across major releases, it is up to you to ensure each piece of your application is as expected.   Thorough testing will help ensure a smooth certification process for you.
  3. 3. Ensure all functionality persists - if no changes have been made to your application for this new release, everything should be in working order.
  4. 4. Complete/Update a revised version of your Scoped Application Test Plan along with the results. This will be interrogated by the certification team.

    2. b) Click the "Request Certification" link:
  5. c) Complete the following form:
  6. d)         The Certification team will confirm your results and proceed with updating your listing.
