Before introducing our IT4IT™ v3 mapped blueprint, I would like to thank our team of leaders who all strongly contributed to preparing this version: Mark Bodman, Dr. Michelle Supper, Jan Gustafsson, Kees van den Brink, Dr. Kumar Abhishek, Charles Bartley, André van der Linden, Ramkumar Devanathan, James Ramsay, Dale James, Richard Hunt & Andy Heron . I would also like to give special thanks to Tolga Tutel & Dave Armes for your Enterprise Architecture sponsorship with unwaning trust, support, and inspiration.
IT4IT™ v3 is the latest version of the IT4IT™ reference architecture for managing IT services and improving transparency. Developed by The Open Group, it is designed to augment existing frameworks like ITIL or COBIT and is compatible with methodologies like DevOps.
One of the main benefits of the IT4IT™ framework is that it improves visibility across the entire organization. It allows different tools and solutions to be completely integrated and remove silos across the organization. The framework focuses on the flow of information and ensures it can trace every step from conception to delivery.
Blueprint Objectives:
- Meet our customers where they are, and help them to mature in value stream management
- Help our customers focus on business outcomes while reducing costs
- Enable customer teams to stay in their tools of preference but proactively avoid disruption across the entire value stream
- Improve all value stream roles’ experience and productivity

We have composed this IT4IT blueprint (functional view) not only to offer high-level clarity on how ServiceNow can help across the various functional components but also linked some demo videos and documentation to offer the opportunity to dive deeper into how our applications work and the outcomes our customers are achieving, at scale.

Digital Product Data Backbone (CSDM)
CSDM as an end-end data model, is a critical foundation of our digital product architecture because it provides a unified view of the data that flows through the digital product. Some of the benefits of using CSDM include:
- Improved communication and collaboration: CSDM helps break down silos between different teams and departments, as everyone will work with the same data definitions.
- Efficiency and scalability: CSDM can help improve a digital product's efficiency and scalability by providing a common way to store and access data. This can make it easier to integrate different systems and applications and scale the digital product as it grows.
- Improved data quality: CSDM can help improve data quality by providing a framework for data validation and normalization. This can help reduce errors and inconsistencies in data, leading to better decision-making and enhanced user experiences.
We hope the blueprint is helpful to our community of customers & partners - please don't hesitate to suggest improvements directly to me, Ian Leu.
