Best Practices for Architecting eBonding Integrations in ServiceNow

I'm looking to gather insights and experiences from experts on architecting eBonding integrations with ServiceNow. Having implemented these types of integrations multiple times myself, I'm interested in learning about the best approaches, particularly in terms of design, scalability, monitoring, logging, and long-term maintenance.

What is the most effective way to design eBonding integrations using Integration Hub, Custom Frameworks, Store Connectors, or Out-of-the-Box APIs? Specifically, I'm curious about:

  1. Design Patterns: What architectural patterns have worked best for eBonding? Is there a preferred framework or spoke for this use case?
  2. Scalability: How do you ensure the integration remains scalable as both systems grow or evolve?
  3. Monitoring & Logging: What strategies or tools do you use to monitor and log data for seamless operations and debugging?
  4. Maintenance: How do you manage long-term maintenance, especially when dealing with ongoing updates, system changes, or evolving requirements?

Any real-world examples, lessons learned, or specific tools that have helped you manage eBonding integrations more efficiently would be greatly appreciated!

This is a good Article talking about Ebonding by @Ashutosh Munot1  , But lets looking for a holistic response to the above

I have built +150 integrations over the years and the best decision we ever made was to get Sharelogic's Unifi application (integration framework).

Have now built +70 integrations with it over the past four years. The best product for Servicenow ever. With ready made golden templates you can have your integration up and running in days not weeks/months.

All the features you listed are included in the application plus at least 100 more.

This is one of those applications that you need to see/test live to understand how it simplies and makes the process of adding new integrations to your instance so much easier and faster.

If you need a demo or more information I can help you get in touch with James Neale/Tim Attenborough at Sharelogic. Just ping me.

Hi,

ServiceNow offers a variety of features designed to streamline integration processes.

1. Instance Data Replication (IDR) facilitates ServiceNow to ServiceNow e-bonding with minimal coding requirements.

2. Service Bridge allows for straightforward configuration to enable integration between ServiceNow instances.

Integration Hub and Flow Designer provide both pro-code and low-code/no-code options, supporting e-bonding with ServiceNow as well as third-party tools.

3. Spokes require manual configuration of field mappings to implement integrations and e-bonding effectively.

All of these features are contingent upon the appropriate license subscription, which incurs associated costs. Leveraging these capabilities in alignment with business needs can enhance integration and e-bonding efforts.

The fundamental platform capabilities, such as Script Include, Business Rule, and ECC Queue, offer a cost-effective solution; however, they necessitate significant monitoring and management during upgrades and patch implementations.

In conclusion, if a customer is prepared to invest in ServiceNow's advanced capabilities, they should consider the highlighted features. Otherwise, they may opt for the basic platform capabilities mentioned earlier.

Regards,
Suresh.
