Certifications validate knowledge—but they don’t create architects.
A great ServiceNow architect thinks beyond features and asks:
- Will this scale?
- Will this survive upgrades?
- Will someone understand this two years from now?
In real projects, architecture is about trade-offs. Choosing simplicity over customization. Governance over shortcuts. Platform consistency over isolated wins.
The strongest architects I’ve worked with:
- Design for people, not just systems
- Balance business urgency with platform health
- Say “no” when needed—and explain why
Architecture is also about influence. An architect must guide developers, stakeholders, and leadership toward sustainable decisions without blocking progress.
Key takeaway:
A ServiceNow architect isn’t measured by certifications—but by how well the platform performs after the project ends.
