From legacy tools to seizing the future
Starting his career in 2007, Anurag entered the world of ServiceNow in 2014. when he was working on implementation projects for a legacy service desk product. Due to the complexity of the legacy product, he and his team struggled to implement requirements and often found themselves reactive and behind schedule. So, when Anurag was introduced to ServiceNow, he says he was amazed by how user-friendly it was, and how easy it was to support, configure, develop on, and integrate with. Anurag realized that ServiceNow was the future and seized the opportunity to start building a ServiceNow career.
Turning ServiceNow knowledge into results for customers
Anurag took the leap and joined a team at Fujitsu that was tasked with exploring ServiceNow in addition to continuing his existing work on the legacy service desk system. He says that ServiceNow Learning made it incredibly easy to quickly get the skills he needed, which he rapidly put to good use. By the end of 2014, Anurag started to migrate Fujitsu customers from the legacy tool to ServiceNow, which he says was a really smooth transition.
Achieving the pinnacle of ServiceNow recognition
For Anurag, ServiceNow certifications have always been incredibly important. He started out by becoming a Certified System Administrator (CSA) in 2016. Although he already had strong admin skills, he says the certification gave his knowledge and essential stamp of approval. Becoming a CSA and the recognition it brought inspired him to continue his learning journey, and he eventually achieved the pinnacle of ServiceNow certification—his CMA.
Building a career with purpose
Anurag says that his involvement in the ServiceNow ecosystem has been a transformative experience. It’s allowed him to develop deep experience in high-demand technology areas, and it’s opened up tremendous career opportunities for him. Above all, he’s able to pursue his passion and has the satisfaction of knowing that he is delivering real value for customers. As Anurag puts it, “ServiceNow has shown me how technology can directly impact people’s lives and make their work easier. That gives me a sense of purpose that goes far beyond just earning a paycheck.”
Helping others to follow in his path
Anurag wants to share that sense of purpose and help others to succeed like he has. He explains that if you’re passionate about what you do, you will achieve success and happiness. That’s why he’s so committed to mentoring other ServiceNow professionals and helping them on the ServiceNow journey. Today, Anurag has mentored three CMAs and 12 Certified Technical Architects (CTAs), an incredible contribution to helping other people discover their passion and build their careers.
Shaping the future
Anurag’s ambitions continue to flourish. He says that his journey forward is about continuous learning, growth, and contribution. It’s not just about being a ServiceNow professional, but being a thought leader and innovator in the ServiceNow ecosystem, shaping the future of the platform and the industry as a whole.
What advice does Anurag have for other people who are just starting the ServiceNow journey? He says, “First of all, you’re at the right place at the right time. ServiceNow is the future. Work hard, keep on learning, and get your hands dirty, and you’ll achieve your dreams.”
