How does the visualisation generation work in otto?

Hi team, 

I was trying to visualise something in otto, I provided it a sample dataset and it used the : "Generate chart with valid chartable data" by itself. I want to understand how it was able to discover that tool when it is not linked by any agent? Also it is not linked to any widget type then how was it able to generate visualisations?

The important part here is that the visualization capability is not necessarily coming from the custom agent itself. Otto for Platform Analytics has native visualization capabilities available through the shared Platform Analytics backend.

So when you provided valid chartable data and asked for a visualization, Otto could recognize that intent and use the available "Generate chart with valid chartable data" capability automatically. That is why you can see the tool being invoked even though you did not explicitly add it to the agent.

The same applies to the widget question. The visualization does not need to be linked to a specific widget type beforehand. The Platform Analytics capability can take the chartable data, determine an appropriate visualization, and return the information needed to render it in the Otto experience.

A simple way to think about the flow is: your agent provides the data, Otto recognizes the visualization intent, the shared Platform Analytics capability generates the visualization, and Otto renders the result.
