Hi Folks,

I need to Perform CMDB and AMDB Assessment in my project so Can anyone guide me or provide a required document to perform a relevant assesment in Customer environment.

You can consider below CMDB Assessment Checklist.

1. CMDB Health Metrics: you can assess completeness, correctness, and compliance through the CMDB Health Dashboard, whether is up to the mark or need attention.

2. Data Sources and Integrations: check all data sources like discovery, import set, integrations with any third party tool, all are correctly configured? Are duplicate data present if yes then is there any De-duplication process are in place or not..

3. Relationships and Dependencies: 

• Are CI relationships correctly mapped and reflecting dependencies?
• Does the CMDB provide a clear view of upstream/downstream dependencies for change impact analysis and incident/problem management?

4. CI Lifecycle: 

Are CIs being properly tracked throughout their lifecycle (from born to deposal)?

Are outdated or obsolete CIs being archived or decommissioned regularly?

5. Governance and Ownership:

Is there a governance framework for CMDB, including roles and responsibilities for CMDB data owners, stewards, and managers?

Is there a data certification process to regularly validate and update the accuracy of the data?

6. Discovery (if configured): Are discovery jobs running on a regular basis to keep the CMDB updated ?

7. Audit and Reporting: 

Are regular audits conducted to assess CMDB accuracy and completeness?

Are there reports and dashboards in place to track CI health, coverage, and data integrity?

8. IRE rule: Make sure IRE rules are places correctly.
