In addition to the prior answers, get a Personal Developer instance and start creating.
create tables, ACL's, Dashboards, flows, etc...
they don't have to be perfect or even work as the goal is to learn, so if you create something that doesnt work, but you fixed it, then you have made major steps towards success

Hello @BuntyS ,

  • Get your PDI (Personal Developer Instance):
Hands-on practice is the best way to learn.

  • Start with the basics:
Take the free “Welcome to ServiceNow” micro-certification course to get an introduction to the platform.

  • Enroll in the CSA (Certified System Administrator) course:
Learn the fundamentals like tables, forms, lists, users, groups, roles, and navigation. This builds your base knowledge.

  • Think in terms of business use cases:
Don’t just learn what a functionality does — ask yourself why it exists and how it can solve real-world business problems.

  • Balance platform overview with scripting:

    • Many beginners focus only on the UI/administration part.

    • But scripting (mainly JavaScript + Glide APIs) is just as important.

    • Practice both in parallel so you become comfortable with configuration and customization together.

Note - If you have any specific question or doubt, feel free to ask.

If this works, please mark it as helpful/accepted — it keeps me motivated and helps others find solutions.
