What is the ServiceNow Service Portal? How does it differ from the platform interface?

The ServiceNow Service Portal / Employee center, is the front-end of ServiceNow facing all users regardless of roles. E.g. for ordering of different products, report incidents etc.

The ServiceNow Service Portal/ESC is a user-friendly portal that allows employees or customers to request services, report issues, or find information knowledge article easily. It is designed for non-technical users to interact with the system.

The Service Portal is simple, modern, and customizable, made for end-users to perform tasks like raising tickets or checking a knowledge base.

The Platform Interface is used by IT staff and administrators to manage, configure, and customize the system.

@21theone ServiceNow Service Portal is designed keeping end users of an organisation in consideration. It offers a consumer grade experience to the end users (Similar to likes of Amazon or any e-commerce site) to the employees of an organisation which allows them to quickly request for a product or a service or search for a knowledge article or quickly get self help from Virtual Agent. 

Service Portal helps organisations by extending the self-service to the end users in turn reducing the ticket volume.

Platform interface is designed keeping the technical users (platform owners, fulfillers) in consideration and targets different audience.
