It’s good to embrace change, especially when it improves user experience and adds new functionality. That’s why we’re highlighting a recent change that does just that: we redesigned and moved the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) Health Dashboard to the CMDB Workspace in the Xanadu release (see the release notes).
Enabling legacy calculation methods
If you’ve noticed your dashboard scoring is different or your saved URLs don’t work, it’s because the dashboard has moved to the CMDB Workspace. The legacy Health dashboard is no longer supported.
You’ll need to update those URLs. However, while the location has changed, the backend computation for failures remains the same in Xanadu. You can revert to the legacy scoring methodology with the January 2025 store release of CMDB Workspace 7.4 version (or later). Just use the handy Use legacy calculation methods toggle switch shown here:
What’s behind the move?
The CMDB Health Dashboard was designed to help admins monitor the overall health of the CMDB and quickly identity and fix any issues that surface. The move to the CMDB Workspace, starting with the Xanadu release, provides greater flexibility and enables more rapid iteration, improvement, and adoption of ServiceNow capabilities.
For example, implemented with the Next Experience user interface in the CMDB Workspace, CMDB Health now has streamlined configuration, simplified scoring, and added new filtering options for a consolidated, improved experience. The Xanadu release also introduces generative AI to CMDB with ServiceNow® Now Assist.
