This simulator, part of the CMDB Fundamentals course on Now Learning, will assess your skills in working with CI Class Manager, Identification and Reconciliation Rules, reclassification rules, CMDB 360/Multisource CMDB, and Data Refresh Rules.
Please use this community article to post questions or issues you find with this simulator before opening a case record. With time this post should provide answers to common questions and inputs.
Thank you and we value your effort to become more knowledgeable on the ServiceNow Platform.
This micro-certification simulator is designed as an adaptive tool to enhance testing and learning through its interactive tasks.
Adaptive simulators operate on three levels:
- Hardest (Expert Level): Top-level instructions are presented first.
- Medium (Proficient Level): Mid-level instructions are provided if needed.
- Beginner Level: Basic instructions are offered at the third and lowest level.

Problem with Task 03: Test Identification Rule. Both scripts ran and produced correct/expected result. Mongoose Web Server confirmed to have a "Runs ::onRuns" relationship with OWA-SD-01 and only one Mongoose Web Server exists. Despite this I get this message when trying to validate task:
"Problem with the number of OWA-SD-01 found - we need to find exactly 1 Server. Did you configure the correct identification rule"
Problem did not occur during the 'Rome' instance, was able to progress past Task 03. Only occuring now in San Diego instance.

**FIXED**
2 records of OWA-SD-01 exists. Deleting the record that does not have a Runs ::onRuns relationship would fix this problem.

Hi Ronald, I will look into this. I don't believe you should have to delete any records to get this to work. Thanks for posting.

Hi Ronald, thanks for your msg. It was determined that the instance you are working on is not configured as expected for the Configure the CMDB sim. This has now been fixed, however the sim team may have terminated all sims that were running with the old configuration. If you request a new instance, the new instance will work as expected and will not require the fix you reported earlier. Thank you again for reporting this information so we could remedy it as soon as possible. Thanks

Hello,
I have problem with Task 2 - Create CI Class. I have completed all other tasks successfully. I can see "Mongoose webserver" class created with provided detail. It is extended from Web Server Class. But when I click "Validate Task", I get 3 observation & fails.
Here is the screenshot for my Mongoose server.
Can someone please point me to what I am missing?
Here is the error I received:

Hello,
I am having 'no show Dynamic Reconciliation Rule' form at Task 14. Pre-requisites are fine.
What could be the stopper please?

Hi Dona, not sure I follow your query, but if you are saying you do not see the Dynamic Reconciliation Rule option, this becomes available after enabling the Multisource CMDB property. Task 07.

Hi Glenn_pinto, Thank you for the response!
I completed Task 7 and validated. Now at task 14 - that was 23rd Oct Sunday, 22.
Today, 29th Oct, Saturday I realized that Tokyo module replaced San Diego. I started from Task 1 again, and now at Task 14 with the same issue. When I select Dynamic reconciliation Rule, the Next button still grayed out. Please help me to complete this course.

I'm currently struggling already in the beginning of the tasks.
At Task 2 Create a new class, the creation of the task under web server is clear. However, when adding the Identifier Entries and adding Class, I get an error. Message

Task 2 you are just creating the new class as an extension of the Web Server class. The default dependency with the Hardware class is fine. What is the error you are getting?

Have you created a 'Class, running process command' Identifier Entry? Did you extend from the Web Se...
I can provide screenshots to ensure all of the above is filled out accordingly.
Also, the instructions only says:
Add Dependent Relationships:

Any hints what should be the Relationship be? I do have Target class assigned to Hardware.

At Gunjan, there is no need to add the filter condition as the discovery source is already defined in the first column.

@DG72 based on the error message, it seems that you have not created the identification rule as asked. Can you reverify the following with your identification rule.
Identifier Entries (Use attributes from main table):
- Selected: Class, Running process command
- Allow null attributes: false
- Allow fallback to parent's rule: false

just follow the path and in web server add a child and follow the process, it will give you everything basically that is it.

Hi @Hrishikesh , the link provided takes me to the Utah content, even though in this case, it is the same configuration as provided in the Paris content. The article states the following:
Enable and configure CMDB 360
- Activate the ITOM Discovery License (com.snc.itom.discovery.license) plugin.
- Navigate to All > Configuration > CMDB 360 Properties. Then, in the CMDB 360 Properties pane ensure that the glide.identification_engine.multisource_enabled (Enables CMDB 360) property is set to true.

Hello,
I'm stuck on task 8. How do I navigate to CMDB 360 Data? Please help. Thank you.

I had a problem with Task 7: Enable Multisource CMDB (Utah) even though I activated the ITOM Discovery plugin and enabled both system properties by navigating through the left navigator using sys_properties.list and press enter:
glide.identification_engine.multisource_cmdb_ci_enabled and set it to true
glide.identification_engine.multisource_non_cmdb_ci_enabled and set it to true
Solution:
- Activate the ITOM Discovery License (com.snc.itom.discovery.license) plugin.
- Navigate to All > Configuration > CMDB 360 Properties or just type CMDB 360 in the left navigator.
- Select Yes under "Enables CMDB 360" i.e. glide.identification_engine.multisource_enabled
- Select Yes under "Enables capturing CMDB 360 data for CIs from CMDB classes (derived from the cmdb_ci class)" i.e. glide.identification_engine.multisource_cmdb_ci_enabled
- Select Yes under "Enables capturing CMDB 360 data for CIs from non-CMDB classes (not derived from the cmdb_ci class) i.e. glide.identification_engine.multisource_non_cmdb_ci_enabled

Hi @knguyen636
- Type cmdb_multisource_data.list into the left filter navigator and hit enter
Search for cmdb_ci_win_server and right click on it and click "show matching"
2 CI class records of cmdb_ci_win_server will be displayed for LANDesk and ServiceNow discovery sources respectively.
- Click on Windows Server: OWA-SD-01 with LANDesk discovery source.
- Right click on the header and select "Configure related list"
- Search and double click on CMDB 360 Data under available slush bucket and save
- Scroll to the bottom of the OWA-SD-01 record and select the personalize list under "CMDB 360 Data" related list to select Col 36 and save
- Save the OWA-SD-01 record and validate your task

Hi @glenn_pinto!
I need help with "Task 13: Build Query with Non-CMDB Table( Utah)" from CMDB Health Simulator.
I have created a query using CMDB query builder and it's giving me the right result as well. But the validation still fails.
After raising a support case, I got to know that the validation is done on the sys_db_object table, where the system expects a record with the name "cmdb_qb_result_base" and Label "Critical Incidents with No Owner".
While the Query from Lab 12 (Windows 2012, 2016, 2019) has populated the record, but the query from Lab 13 (Critical Incidents with No Owner) is not creating any record in sys_db_object.
Please refer the SS below.
Any help is appreciated! Thanks in advanced 🙂

@Raghav Kakkar regarding task 13, the validation is based on the value you enter into the description field. Did you enter and a value in this field and save it. This step is described in the following:
"- In the Description field, enter the number of records returned and then save the query again." If you did enter a value in this field, what value did you enter?

Hey @glenn_pinto, yes, I did add the value "6" in the description. However, I deleted that Query and created a new one. This time I saw the record in sys_db_object table but the label did not get populated correctly and it said, "Query Object". So, I renamed it manually and got the validation.

I am having issues with Task 5. I have followed the instructions faithfully but the graphic doesn't match and the validation fails every time. I have un-done and re-done it several times with no luck. Here is proof that I added the required fields:
I ran the dashboard job (multiple times) yet the result continues to fail with this message:
