Assign a Status to Templates

There are few Templates in the estate which needs a status assigned to them. These cannot marked as Operational or Decommissioned. Please suggest a status for these templates.

What is the logic needed behind this? OOB, templates can be used for lots of things and only have an 'active' field to make them usable or not. Creating a status field is easy, but not using that status field for anything.
