Certification of CI Ownership or "The Ownership Shuffle"

I used the data certification feature for the first time recently to send tasks to the technical owners of our most critical business apps. We knew the ownership data we had wasn't great, but it was a start.
The problem was that when someone received a task with several apps and identified some of them that should have different ownership, there was no way to reassign just those apps to another person. The re-assign button could ONLY re-assign the entire task. They could update the owner field, but they were still on the hook to complete the certification.
How do people normally handle this scenario? Should there be a feature request to better support this initial phase of data validation that I like to call the "ownership shuffle"?

We built a catalog request for ownership changes (we use Owner Groups and not individual owners to prevent staff movement from orphaning a CI). The non-owner user submits the Owner Update request for the CI(s), and once the new Owner group accepts ownership which is key to ensure that teams are not playing "hot potato" with the CI(s), the old owner fails the cert for those CI(s) rows and the new owner gets a new Cert task.
It is kludgy but a process is needed in my environment to ensure that Ownership changes are governed.

Hi Scott. Where did you find an Owner group or maybe, what Attribute did you place this group into on what class?
Thanks, Jimmers

Not sure if it's what Scott chose to use, but there are managed_by_group and support_group field on business application already. We've been considering use of managed_by_group for routing certain approvals.

Hi Darin, I've been getting a bit hammered on the use of all the Individual and Group attributes across the classes. I had co-pilot scrap through SN's documentation and the community looking for anything on use/best practices. I have not gone over it with a fine tooth comb, but I'm willing to share if interested.
