We are onboarding the Cloud databases (RDS) from AWS and I am looking to confirm some basic relationships on how this works in the CMDB.
Seems like the RDS' are similar to a server, in that it hold the resources, who owns the AWS account who ordered it and the database type that is deployed. Then RDS CIs should have a relationship to the Database instance that is deployed, which in turn has a relationship to the Databases deployed under that instance. In essence, the AWS RDS->Instance->Database is similar to Server->Instance->Database?
Which means when we bring in the CIs from AWS RDS we also need to already have the proper classes setup for each database type that is available.
Is my understanding here correct, if rather simplistic? If not where did I get it wrong?
