Has anyone created CI's for Integrations (the integration itself) relating them to the systems that are being integrated? Is there a class for Integrations (I search product docs and did not find one). Just looking for how others have managed their integrations as CI's. So an integration between Peoplesoft and Hyperion for example, that is moving data from one to the other system. How are people tracking these types of "apps"? Is there something in the Application tables to distinguish an integration from an application?

Usually its recommended to use "Discovery Source" field on CMDB to populate the discovery source of the CI. I don't think so we have a class for integrations.

Discovery source would be great for identifying where the data is sourced from, but I am not talking about integrations to populate the CMDB. Rather I am talking about integrations between other applications. For example if there is an integration between PeopleSoft and Hyperion that pulls data from one to populate in the other. Is there a class for those types of things? Are they considered applications and there is something in the Application Portfolio Management tables to identify them.

Since we have an organizational team that manages certain types of integrations, we had the need to track detailed information about that integration in CMDB beyond just a relationship between CI's. We ended up creating a custom class for integrations so we could capture that information. The source and target fields point to Application Services. It's not the most mature class, but it suits our needs for the time being.

Thank you, I appreciate that you took the time to help. A couple questions: Are you using the APM module? What research did you do to see if there was an out of the box class for integrations? I have a terrible time finding things in the product docs so just curious on the research part.
