We've a requirement to get non-cmdb tables data certified. As Data Certification application is going to be deprecated, do we need to use CMDB workspace Data manager policy to create certification tasks for non-CMDB tables?
If CMDB data manager is the only way, means user would need CMDB workspace access to work on certification tasks?
It would be confusing for end users to go to CMDB workspace to work on certification tasks for tables which has nothing to do with CMDB (Example - Groups or Users table). And sn_cmdb_ws contains more roles specific to CMDB.
Also is it possible to dot walk on Assignment field? For example - if i want to dot walk to user's manager based on user field, can we do in new certification? It was possible in legacy data certifications.
@Tony Branton - Could you please help us here.
Regards,
Shreya

Tony,
you wrote that "The new version of Data Certification supports certifying data in non-CMDB tables."
However the "Working with CMDB Data Manager" article for Xanadu says "You can apply CMDB Data Manager policies only to classes that extend the Configuration Item [cmdb_ci] table."
Is there a contradiction here or are these referring to separate things?

The Certification policy type supports CMDB and non-CMDB tables.
The other policy types are restricted to the CI tables.
