Hi for data cleanens in our cmdb we want to define some data policys to clean up older data.
the idea here is to have a rule to delete ci that is on status initialized having no managed by group set and the most resenent discovery is more than 2 months ago.
what I read is that for this there is the datamanager with the policies you can set there to trigger a workflow.
this is there for the way we want to move.
How ever when in the datamanager defining a policy for this. it requires a retirement policy but you can only set one policy per class and the standard only are defined for non operational status like retired.
in my opinion the retirment policy should work for any state to move it to the set retiment status. simular for deletion and archiving but can imagine that as a best practice you should only do that for retired ci .
So question here what is the best way to use the datamanager to clean up old ci that are never updated any more and can there for go to retired state or be delete.
Can the datamanager be used for that if so how?
is this still to be done with the old stale remediation metrics with the assigned task and legacy workflow?
