I’m creating de-duplication templates and would like to designate the Main CI based on the most recent discovery, rather than using ‘newest updated’. The “newest updated” option isn’t ideal because human updates can skew accuracy compared to a discovery update.
In the Duplicate Remediator Engine under Recommendations, I see the term “newest discovery,” but this option isn’t available within the templates.
Does anyone know a workaround for achieving this?

@Bridgette Weiri You are right, 'newest discovery' is not available in the drop down. But you can use 'Newest updated' because, every time a CI is discovered, the update time gets changed along with the 'Last discovered time'. When there are duplicates, the right CI getting updated by the manual effort possibility is very little compared to 'Update' field updated every time the CI is discovered.
If you think, the manual updates would happen on the same day as it was discovered, then you can use,
'Select main CI based on condition' -> 'Most recent discovery' + 'is same' + Day as + Updated
Here is a screenshot.
Try testing this template, then you can finetune it.
