Disclaimer: Totally new to ServiceNow Discovery. My company is implementing ServiceNow discovery. Part of the project is going to involve deploying laptops that are going to be utilized as Mid Servers to run scans on offices that are not on our network internationally. I used the Guided Set Up. The Mid Server is configured is configured on a laptop that is going to be shipped internationally. That laptop can only connect to a wireless network for the time being. When I get to the discovery portion, I selected the CI data and I get to the Quick Start Discovery tab. When I get there I see the Mid Server that is set up on the lap top. I select it. From there I see the router gateway address but it is asking me to add the SNMP credentials (See attached). Why do I have to enter SNMP credentials? Is there anyway around this where I just enter a specific IP range that I wish to scan?

It appears you are going through the process of subnet discovery which would require snmp credentials. If you are wanting to just scan specific IP addresses then you can go to Discovery Schedules and either perform a quick discovery for a single ip address or you can create a new discovery schedule which will allow you to scan multiple IP addresses as well as entire subnets. You will have to create credentials on the credential table though in order for the Discovery scan to work depending on the types of devices your are wanting to discover.
Thanks,
Erick

While that article is helpful, I think more of the question that I have is there a way to bypass this step and scan a specific IP Range?
