Fields included in CI modification FOrm

Hi,

 

I am creating a catalog item for CI Addition, Modification and Deletion to provide non-authorized users a method to request CI modifications and additions

 

Can anyone please help with the high-level picture?

 

What fields should be included on the form level for CI Addition and Modification for non-authorised users?

@sntech It depends on the team you are creating this catalog Item for? Is your Catalog Item will undergo Approvals or just direct ingestion into CMDB.

I am wondering, how are you deciding the class the CI should go into? who decides it and which stage of the Catalog Item you are planning to decide that? 

Are you using any of the ingestion methods, like Service Graph connectors/Discovery?

But according to me, the high-level basic requirements would be 

Class

Name

Serial number

Asset associated

other fields might depend on the class - like for Operating system for Computer 

 

It's advised to discover/ other way of ingestion is better for CI than manual entry. Manual entry the fields values differ and very error prone to duplication and not connected to upstream or downstream applications.
