Can we provide read access to CI class manager only for any user or group?

Hi @saranyavs ,
Create or Modify ACLs
Go to System Security > Access Control (ACL) and follow these steps:
🔹 For Table-Level Read Access:
- Type: record
- Operation: read
- Name: cmdb_ci or specific extended class (e.g., cmdb_ci_server)
- Requires Role: Add the role assigned to CI Class Managers (e.g., ci_class_manager or a custom role)
For Field-Level Read Access (Optional):
- If you want to restrict or allow access to specific fields:
- Create ACLs with Operation = read
- Name: cmdb_ci.<field_name>
Assign Role to CI Class Manager
- Go to the User record.
- Add the appropriate role (e.g., ci_class_manager, cmdb_read, or a custom role you created).
- You can also assign the user to a group that has the role.
Test Access
- Log in as the CI Class Manager or impersonate the user.
- Navigate to a CI record.
- Confirm that the user can view the record and its fields.
Please mark as correct and close this thread if this is helpful

Refer below thread
https://www.servicenow.com/community/itsm-forum/ci-class-manager-module/m-p/908303/page/2
Roles : itil_admin, personalize_dictionary, itil
You might need to check any ACLs on cmdb_ci and might need to provide read access for the role.
If this helped to answer your query, please mark it helpful & accept the solution.

Hi @saranyavs ,
i think the question is more why? The co class manger is for creating, managing co classes, IRE rules and so one. Why provide access to this? What is the business purpose that you’re trying to solve?
If my answer has helped with your question, please mark my answer as the accepted solution and give a thumbs up.
Best regards
