How to understand CSDM?

Hello,

I thought I had a basic knowledge of CSDM after reading ServiceNow's official documentation and watching the CSDM series on YouTube, but that's not true. I feel like I missed some basics or something. I do not understand these concepts.

If someone could explain it to me like a 5 year old, that would be great. How it works in real life scenarios?

And what does it mean if someone has a good understanding of CSDM?
