Info required on working with Discovery and Service Mapping

Hello all,

 

Good day!!

We are going to start working with CMDB using Service-Now provided ones Discovery and Service Mapping.

I request you all to guide me in understanding the below questions.

 

1, I came to know that we need to have ITOM Visibility license to our instance to work with Discovery and Service Mapping. My question is, what is the difference between a License and a plugin in Service-now????

2. Secondly, if we just install the plugin ITOM Visibility, what are all applications we can work with?

Because I have followed this below link and have questions in it...

Here in this link, under ITOM Visibility, I see this:

The ServiceNow® ITOM Visibility product consists of ServiceNow® DiscoveryServiceNow® Service MappingCertificate Inventory and ManagementService Graph Connectors, CMDB 360, and Firewall Audits and ReportingDiscovery and Service Mapping give you a unified, connected view of your entire IT network and the services that it supports.

 

But when I check the google, I see to work with Service mapping, I need these two

com.snc.service-mapping

com.snc.service-watch

 

So, I am confused like, will these above two plugins will come as a part of ITOM Visibility or what?

Which all plugins we need to install to work with Service Now Discovery and Service Mapping?

Can someone please respond to my two questions?

Atul:A plugin is a set of files that need to be installed in an instance to activate specific functionality. In some cases, a license/role is required for users to access and use that functionality.

 

 

You can use  Service Mapping plugin (com.snc.service-mapping) to activate it.
