Hi All,
Please let me know if we can build the integration with Microsoft SCCM & ServiceNow to pull the data from ServiceNow in CMDB.
I understand it can be easily done from Service graph connector for Microsoft SCCM, However client does not want to do it with connector due to some license restrictions.
Can someone please guide me how to start the integration without connector, I just wanted to understand if someone has the same use case and how the integration was build without connector and what challenges you have faced.
Thanks in Advance.
Regards

Be mindful that we do not recommend importing CI data directly into tables, as this will bypass the identification and reconciliation rules for CI's that prevents duplicates, and will bypass multi-source feature if enabled as well. All Service Graph connectors use IRE, so this consideration and using IRE is built-into them. IRE documentation can be found here.
The metrics this will negatively impact is provided in the Data Foundations Dashboard, as hi-lighted below. The Data Foundations Dashboard can be downloaded from the store as well. Here is a video overview if you are not aware of this critical feature to gauge your data management practices and quality.
There are a few health metrics associated to this problem that will start to show up and negatively impact your health scores.

I must disagree. All CMDB integrations should go through the IRE. SCCM Service Graph Connector is the way to do this.

Hi @CMDB Whisperer - Thanks for your reply, I agree all integration should go via IRE and Service graph connector follows IRE, However, Do you know if we made it all custom solution and pull the SCCM data via OOB data sources through JDBC, Is there a way to go through the IRE and not directly into CMDB tables?

Technically, yes there is. You can use the IRE APIs to do this using onBefore() transform scripts. You would still be limited in several ways, and using the IntegrationHub-ETL application (also free) to use the Robust Transforms instead is a far superior method, and is what is used by SGC for SCCM as well, so... again, just use SGC for SCCM. You are getting stuck on the idea that there are licensing implications, when there are not. If you are getting errors installing the Integration JDBC system plugin then contact the Support team because this is a free application, as is SGC SCCM. There is literally zero reason, as far as I am aware, that you should have to do anything but SGC SCCM. But if you absolutely feel you must, then my all means, use the IRE APIs to do this.

Hello, on sub prod instances we can install the plugin directly.
But on the production instance we have to go through the store and face this popup :
So here it seems that it's not actually a free application.
(we don't have any of these subscriptions)
Who is right ?

I was wondering the same thing. It's confusing as it says No for "Subscription Required".
