To add a new tab, we have to make changes in 2 places:
1. UX page properties - Chrome toolbar [Please check Sandeep's reply in this post]
2. Update the Script Include: CMDBWorkspaceNavigationUtil

You're correct in saying you can't copy a workspace. What you can do though is copy page variants and modify those. For example if you wanted to make visual styling changes to the sub pages in the CMDB Workspace Home landing page:
- Navigate to All > Now Experience Framework > UI Builder > Experiences.
- From the list, open the CMDB Workspace record and click on the Open in UI Builder button.
- From the Variants section, under Home, next to the Settings link click on the three dot overflow button and select Duplicate Variant.
- Provide a name for your page variant.
- A copy of the CMDB Workspace Home landing page, along with its subpages, is created under the Variants section, and is created in the scope of the current logged-in user.
- Edit the page as needed and save your changes.
- You can configure Home to use your page variant by opening the settings for the Home landing page, and unchecking the Active flag for the OOB Home page, and setting the order e.g. as shown below.
- In this example, once the changes are made your page variant will display when you open CMDB Workspace (here's my page variant example):
- Switching back to use the OOB page is straightforward.
- For information see Manage UI Builder pages and page variants.

Hi Tony,
How did you add the SGC Central Tab within that Copy of your page?
The Home page seems to not include the header configuration

Page variant will customize only the landing page which is home but I need to hide the tabs cmdb 360 and insights, add new tabs to the experience. that means i have to duplicate the experience itself to customize chrome toolbar properties.
Or else create custom chrome toolbar, not sure if it is possible.

Correct - you need to create a copy and modify that if you're intending to introduce new menu items. It would be impossible for ServiceNow to support CMDB Workspace if it included customer modifications.

You mean create new experience from scratch, is there any option to create duplicate experience like we have OOTB option for page varients.
I thought to copy chrome_toolbar and unlink cmdb_workspace application but i cannot unlink it as Page is mandatory field.
