We recently started using the Conten service from ITOM to widen our OID base.
But we found that at least one CI type has been classfifed in a questionable way. Thta is the
Cisco Webex Board 55 resp Tandberg Webex Board 55.
It is classified as IP Router but should be Communication Hardware in our opinion.
I deleted one CI, changed the OID table definition to "Communication Hardware" and started Discovery on that IP. But it was again created as IP Router.
What did I miss to change the class?
Sincerly

Hey,
Could you check the linked classifier which is used for the OID entry? Could be that this classifier is running on the IP Router table and overrides the OID classification. Do you have an SNMP classifier for Communication Hardware already?
If not, create one for the right table (remember, routers & communication hardware are not under the same parent table, which is why a reclassification through the classifier will collide with the OID entry) and link it to the OID entry. Ideally, this solves the issue. Otherwise some more debugging is required.

Fabian
