Hi,

I have 2 queries.

1. Linux team says, the server is not present in CMDB. I ran a quick discovery but that server is classified as IP router. What should be done to make sure, the server is classified as linux server?

2. Linux team gave us some servers, but they were not present, upon running quick discovery on 30th October, they were added into cmdb.

But now, I see most recent discovery is not updated after 30th October for linux class. Rather, I see 'Most recent discovery' is updated for 'VMware Virtual Machine Instance' for same server.

How this is happening.

Thank you!!

I don't know how 1) would have happened, but for 2): The VMware CI connects your Linux Server CI to the VM infrastructure CIs. You need both to model outage impacts, that sort of thing. Typically only the Linux Server CI will be a principal class, of those two.

Check that your credentials for the Linux servers are valid, and see if there are any errors when you run your discovery of the Linux servers. Are you able to scan other Linux servers successfully, for example?
