Business Capability Reporting

We want to see Service Health and Total Cost of Ownership by Business Capability.  Are we able to do that without having the Enterprise Architecture module in ServiceNow?  Basically, we want to see the health of all the services rolled up to the Business Capability.  We don't want to use Service Portfolio if we don't have to.

TCO of all the Services rolled up to a Business Capability would make no sense as many Services will provide more than one Business Capability, so how would you apportion TCO?

 

Costs are usually targeted at Services, so no, you won't need EA to do this - its natural home is in Service Portfolio. Capture the costs in Service Offering then roll up. I'm not sure whether this is available OOTB in Portfolio Taxonomy Layers - I don't recall seeing it.

 

It beats me why all organisations don't implement portfolios in ServiceNow - it's a great way to visualise what the organisation has ("basket of investments") and quickly shines a light where there may be gaps in service coverage.
