CSDM persona vs CMDB persona

I am currently learning to build a CMDB using CSDM.
In the process, I have been looking through the Now Create materials and found that each of the CSDM and CMDB materials have different examples of personas.

If we follow the Now Create persona examples, how should we go about implementing them?

1. Give priority to the personas in CSDM.
2. Prepare both CSDM and CMDB personas.

Priority to the Personas in CSDM:

The CSDM personas are specifically designed to align with the CSDM framework, which is tailored to service management and operational efficiency.
These personas reflect the roles and responsibilities that are integral to the successful implementation and utilization of the CSDM.
By prioritizing CSDM personas, you ensure that your implementation is aligned with best practices and is more likely to meet the needs of the various stakeholders involved in service management.
Prepare Both CSDM and CMDB Personas:

While it is beneficial to prioritize CSDM personas, preparing both CSDM and CMDB personas can provide a more comprehensive understanding of the different roles involved.
This approach allows you to capture a broader perspective, ensuring that you address the needs and expectations of all relevant stakeholders.
Having both sets of personas can also help in identifying any overlaps or gaps in roles and responsibilities, leading to a more robust and effective implementation.

I take the approach that the CSDM classes are really a (very important) subset of the CMDB. As with any data in CMDB, regardless of the process or persona responsible for the data in those subsets, a minimum level of governance from a CMDB point of view is still required to ensure the overall health. If you look at the personas called out in a lot of the NowCreate assets, you will notice that they are generally personas who have responsibility for areas whose data is likely to reside in the CMDB - Service Owners, Process Owners, Technial SMEs etc

Therefore, I would say that the CMDB personas would be my priority in general, as these roles would allow me to ensure the accuracy and accountability of the data being populated across the entire CMDB, not just the CSDM related classes, but all of the classes managed by those service owners, technical SMEs etc. The process and standards that your CMDB (Configuration Management) resources develop will be the same ones that ensure that your CSDM data remains healty and most importantly, trustworthy
