Generic CI

We have received directives to create generic Configuration Items (CIs) for a variety of services. This includes externally hosted ERP services, as well as other services like virtual infrastructure, Azure Kubernetes Clusters, wireless routers, and backup software. However, these services have not yet been identified within the ServiceNow environment due to specific reasons. We are facing challenges in understanding how to incorporate this into the Configuration Service Database Model (CSDM). Could someone provide advice or best practices on creating Generic CIs and whether relationships with existing classes should be established?

Hi

it's impossible to answer such a generic question. It would require a consulting project on your side to figure out a proper approach.

Or you take a look on my page Common Service Data Model (CSDM) to start learning and understanding.
