I want to extract one page report, so that i can review capability and drill down to business apps.

Hello folks,

I am working on the Business Capability module[Without APM subscription]. Recently, I got a requirement from my client team that they wish to extract a one-page report so that they can review capability and drill down to business applications.

So the point is they want all business capabilities in an encapsulated form level by level on a single-page report and that report should be present on a custom dashboard. I have been thinking since the day I received this whether this could be possible to show all my capabilities in one page and later we can drill down to business applications. I tried with High Charts [a 3rd party tool to create charts using codepen] but what I could achieve was a hardcoded and static rough chart and in real scenarios, data should be dynamic, and business capabilities should be auto-populated in that chart. I am completely blank on how I would do that.
Can anyone help to see if this is feasible and if POC is available for it?

I would highly appreciate some input from peers like you. If you wish to connect to get more broader picture maybe we can catch up on a call, Just drop your mail.

Note: I am attaching a Word doc. link for insight into my requirements and what we expect.

Hi @Amarjeet123, I would create a generic Business Capability (maybe call it "All Capabilities") and make it the parent of all your level 0 capabilities. It may mean that you would have to change the existing L0 capabilities to L1 and so on but when you click on All Capabilities record and view the dependency map, you will see the representation of all capabilities and can drill down to the relevant Business Applications.

Hope this helps.

Hey @MaggieT

Thank you for your reply,  I appreciate your idea, however our client and their stakeholders want everything to be presented in form of a single one page report. This means they want all capability in one page they don't need the drill down from parent level to next child level capability/ies we checked with them they don't want the tree structure for visualisation instead they want something I described earlier as boxes inside boxes. Once they click on node capability they want to see the Business Application/s associated with it from that one page only. However, I will use your idea for future purpose where this will be a suitable approach.

If you have any thing else you can drop over here.

Regards,

Amarjeet.
