Hi,
I wanted to get your thoughts on how do you categorize changes where during pre-deployment activities something was found that made the team decide not to proceed with the change activity and have it re-scheduled instead? From a stats and reporting pov, do you categorize this specific change scenario to a successful change, failed change, or something else?
Thanks!

It's rescheduled, so this change will either end up being completed at a different time, or canceled after investigation shows that it can't be done at all.
So at the moment of rescheduling your process will have it go through the normal approvals/CAB or whatever you have in place (it will need to be approved for the rescheduled date) and then it will be picked up again.
So that moment of rescheduling doesn't make it anything else than a change that is in progress. It didn't fail (it will just be postponed), it's not successful (it has not been completed yet). It is just another 'in progress' change like any other change that is waiting for it's scheduled time.
We don't know your reporting requirements, but if it is important to know, you could categorize it as 'rescheduled'.
