Good morning,
I want to specifically ask about manually deleting a hardware asset. If you are bulk adding asset information, and duplicate an old hardware asset. Is it safe to manually delete the duplicated asset. On the bottom of the record is a timestamp, clearly showing which record is the newest (duplicate) If anyone could provide actual ServiceNow instruction, or an entry on this. I would greatly appreciate it. I understand randomly deleting an asset that's been in the system is an issue. But this is an existing Hardware asset is duplicated, then immediately deleted.

Hi @XoVSOP ,
Ideally, we should delete an asset only to clean up errors. The correct method for managing an asset that is no longer in use is to change the state of the asset to Retired for better tracking.
Procedure:
- Navigate to Asset > Portfolios > All Assets.
- Select the check box to the left of the asset Name.
- In the Actions choice list below the list, select Delete Asset Only.
