Help needed to see the MID Server in lab instances for ServiceNow Platform Implementation On Demand

Hi everyone,

I am currently doing the ServiceNow Platform Implementation On Demand training, but I cannot see the MID Server (windows_mid) in my lab instance. The training instructions ask to select the already installed MID Server: windows_mid, but this server does not appear in my environment.

Can someone please help me understand how to make the MID Server visible in lab instances? Is there a way to activate or install a MID Server in these on-demand training environments, or do I need to request a different environment with MID Server pre-configured?

Thank you in advance for your support!

Kind Regards,

Misafir

Hi @Misafir99 ,

Some labs / instances don’t have the MID Server installed or activated correctly, even though course instructions assume it is....The name windows_mid may not show up if permissions / roles don’t allow viewing MID server records, or if the MID Server record got deleted or disabled....

What I plan to try / what you can try:

>> Double check you are in the correct lab instance (sometimes there are multiple; one with MID server, another without)....

>> Check MID Servers > Servers in the navigator; search/filter for MID, windows, etc., to see if it’s just named differently.....

>> Check your user roles, maybe you need a specific role to see MID Server entries.

>> If it’s missing, raise a support case via Now Learning / ServiceNow Learning Support, asking them to enable or provision the MID Server “windows_mid” for your lab.

>> If allowed, terminate your lab and request a new one, sometimes that fixes missing components....
